As the name suggests, the Slurry Pumps are for pumping materials. The key to slurry pump success is the generation of centrifugal force, which pushes material outward from the pump center.
Heavy Duty Slurry Pumps can withstand extensive wear due to characteristics such as a large impeller diameter, shafts, bearings, and internal passageways as well as heavy-duty construction. On an industrial level, slurry pump features generate higher upfront and operational costs compared to water pumps. However, only slurry pumps can hydro transport solid materials efficiently, and the long-term benefits outweigh the initial costs.
According to different usage scenarios, the slurry pump can be divided into three types:
Wet — In this installation, the slurry pump and drive are fully submersible. This is necessary for certain slurry pump applications, such as underwater operations.
Dry — In this installation, the pump drive and bearings are kept out of the slurry. The wet end — which includes the shell, impeller, hub or suction liner, and shaft sleeve or stuffing box — is free-standing and clear of any surrounding liquid. Slurry pump technicians install most horizontal pumps this way.
Semi-dry — This special arrangement is used for dredging applications with horizontal pumps. Operators flood the wet end and bearings but keep the drive dry. Bearings require special sealing arrangements in this case.

In industry and mining, "sludge" is very different from the cement-containing slurries we see on a daily basis. The resulting sludge may be highly viscous, abrasive, corrosive, or a combination of the three. Industrial sludge must be removed, transported and safely disposed of as these sludges can be toxic to the environment. Conventional sump pumps are not well suited for handling heavy sludge and will have a significantly shorter lifespan than pumps designed to pump sludge and slurries efficiently. Therefore, it is necessary to use professional MUD Pumps to pump these sludges.
Sludges, together with slurries, can be divided into two categories: those that contain solids that eventually settle, and those in which the solids remain in suspension.
Sludge containing permanently suspended particles is usually composed of very fine low impact particles that can be abrasive to the pump but mostly behave like water. Sludge containing particles that will eventually settle is a more unstable slurry that behaves differently than conventional liquids. When choosing a Sludge Pump, attention must be paid to flow rate and horsepower. Most slurry or sludge applications are made of coarse particles, so sludge pumps are designed for high impact and abrasion resistance.
At CNSME, we can help you identify the right type of sludge pump for your specific needs. We have an incredible engineering design team that comes up with concepts and develops excellent products. Call us today for more information or to discuss your requirements. We look forward to the opportunity of serving you as a valued customer.
Through the slurry pump model to introduce what are on behalf of the record, these are dry goods oh!
We take a certain specification of slurry pump as an example for analysis:
AH slurry pump model meaning: such as 4/3C-AH (R)
4: Inlet diameter 4 inches (100mm)
3: Outlet diameter 3 inches (75mm)
C: Bracket form
AH: Heavy duty slurry pump
R: Rubber material
ZJ slurry pump model significance: such as 100ZJ-I-A36
100: The outlet diameter is 100mm
ZJ: Slurry pump
I: single-stage slurry pump, second-stage pump marked II
A: Number of impeller blades. A is 5 tablets, B is 4 tablets, C is 3 tablets, and F is 6 tablets
36: impeller diameter 36cm
ZGB slurry pump model meaning: such as 200ZGB(P)
200: The outlet diameter is 200mm
