Development history of WARMAN PUMP

Today, many types of slurry pumps are manufactured around the world for a variety of purposes, but the world famous slurry pump is the Warman pump, which is synonymous with centrifugal slurry pumps. The basic construction of the Warman pump is a double shell construction, which is adopted by many pump manufacturers today, but when the Warman pump was developed in the 1930s, it was very revolutionary and innovative, and a great invention. Charles Harold Warman, the inventor of the Warman pump, revolutionized the slurry pump industry, including this double-shell scheme.

Charles Harold Warman was born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Warman's father and grandfather both worked in the mines. He graduated from the Western Australian School of Mines. When I was working as a graphic engineer in a large gold mining company in Australia, I came into contact with slurry pumps. After a brief stint at a mining consulting firm, I set up my own studio. He patented the replaceable rubber lined pump in 1938, which was the beginning of the double shell slurry pump.

Mr Warman supplied mining equipment including pumps alongside his consulting business but gradually shifted the focus of the business to pumps and mining equipment and in 1958 the base also moved to Artarmon in Sydney.
